themonsterinyou It's the 60's Cali surf scene all over again! I love when the guitars are dripping with reverb. Great hooks and excellent production,. More, please!!!

Blackula Jonez The unique proposition of having a surf rock album with a cowboy twist seemed like an odd pairing at first but Punded by Surf actually pulled it off with style.

After multiple listens over the weekend & never even getting close to skipping a track I've gotta say the Morricone-esque riffs (with the faint/ominous whistling in the background) over straightforward surf is a sublime blend. Great album wish to hear more from the band. Favorite track: Out Of Control.

about

"Pounded by the Surf" is an all-instrumental band hailing from Jerkwater, USA. Formed in 2013, the band has been heralded by many as “Probably the best looking band in the world." and “Still the best looking band...in the world."
PBTS defines generes with little to no help from modern technology, sunscreen, or side salads, but enough about being good looking - lets do the chew about the tunes!

Removing the surf green vinyl from its desert landscape jacket - one is presented with instant confusion - a crossroads (if you will). The surf green vinyl screams the ocean, yet the cover screams the desert. What does this say? What does this mean? Is Donald Trump going to be the next President? Herein lies the answer rather than the question. With the headphones on - close your eyes and you are instantly transported to where the desert meets the ocean - "The Docean" (this probably isn't a word).

"Cowboys n Indians" kicks things off with a nod to The Shadows' early work (not that 80's crap where they started perming their hair) and gallops across the desert before pummeling face first into a wave. The title track "No Waves" again takes us through the badlands - this time while rubbin' our main man Duane Eddy's rhubarb - and the dream that someday / somehow we will make it to the ocean and get pounded by waves we can’t surf. Speaking of getting pounded - the drum solo on "Beach Cholo" adds fuel to the fire of whether or not energy drinks should be legal and sold to minors. Oh my god- I’m thirsty! "Aloha Chino Hills" and "Lake Elsinore Vapers (our local gang)" are a nod to the almighty Inland Empire. The album finally sits you down gently with “Chipped," which heavily features a sound we invented and have named “reverb”.

Actually, I made all that up. We made this record in a living room 2 years ago.

Bio's suck - let’s surf.
